During this session, we ended up choosing two groups to make gel art with via gel electrophoresis

My gel art collab with Will Elliot was chosen. Ours was meant to be flipped upside down for a puppy but now looking upright, it could also be a monkey. One arm didn’t show up in the gel.

Chien Lu’s gel art “M” was also selected.

So we had two gels running - one with Chien’s “M” and one with mine & Will’s monkey or puppy. Both were successful runs despite one of the monkey’s arm not showing up.

We also discussed Opentrons for next week:

We decided to make art using fluroescent protein on black agar (6 colors) over s. marascens (autoclave after pasting onto textile). Overwhelming vote for fluorescent proteins!

Apparentl, we can download Opentrons software and access Genspace Opentrons remotely

(”move” means delta or add this coordinate to this coordinate, not actually absolute. it’s relative - start from the center location to not think about it)

We also have a software engineer from Opentrons helping us out too. We’re very lucky.
